The Trust makes grants on an annual basis to three categories of student: 1) Junior Honours students; 2) postgraduate taught-course students; 3) postgraduate first year PhD students who are studying in Social Anthropology at the University of St Andrews. The fund is to enable these students to undertake fieldwork or other research (e.g. library or archival) for their dissertations, theses or review essays. An External Assessor appointed by the Trust assists the Trustees in the awarding of these grants.
